In today’s digital age, hashtags are all the rage. Ever since Instagram took over our lives and opened our eyes to
‘The Modern world”, there’s a hashtag for everything.
Don’t believe me? Try searching google for the most ridiculous thing that comes to your mind and you’ll see how it
was already a trend before you thought of it.
Tough luck, guess you won’t be the next guest on The Ellen Show. (Wipes fake tears)
Now moving on to the reason you clicked on this blog; you need help coming up with a kick-ass wedding hashtag
for your special day but so far, all the options your pals gave you are boring at the least.
That’s where the wedding experts (us!) step in.
After covering weddings internationally for more than a decade, if there’s one thing that excites us every time; it’s
the creativity our clients display in personalizing their very own wedding hashtags. So us, being our generous
selves, decided to share this holy knowledge with all future brides-to-be. Let’s begin!
First things first, you need to brainstorm.
Grab a notebook and a pen, and write down all the things you and your partner have in common. Your mind map
should contain everything relevant to the two of you, from details of your first meeting to silly things like viral
videos that make you laugh till your stomachs hurt. Trust the process, everything is important and can be used to
add a personal touch.
Now comes the fun part, with your mind map in front of you, start mixing and matching different words together.
The idea that a wedding hashtag can only have your and your fiancé’s names limit innovativeness. Instead, try
embracing alliteration. The repetition of words like #Haeka’sgettinghitched rolls off the tongue easily and has a nice
ring to it. Similarly, opt for using references to famous movies or music that you like! One of our couples used
Manmail as their hashtag, and if you’re a fan of Pakistani dramas then, you know exactly which show it’s inspired
by. Another good example of this is #DeepVeerwale, the official hashtag for Deepika Padukone and Ranveer
Singh’s wedding. This wedding hashtag perfectly incorporates the personalities of the couple and does justice to
their spectacular Bollywood wedding!
Don’t shy away from puns or rhymes. If you need help coming up with a quirky phrase, then a rhyming dictionary
is your best friend! See if your keyword rhymes with anything that can be used as a clever play on words, such as
RingsandSmiths. It’s short and simple, but not boring!
Keep in mind that wedding hashtags have the liberty to be versatile since they have to work for each couple out
there. With a little creativeness in consolidating your two names together or including fun customized angles, your
wedding hashtag will surely attract some clicks on the gram!
